Gabby Davidson MELBOURNE physiotherapist
Gabby was a professional dancer with the Australian Ballet for 10 years. Upon retirement she retrained as a physiotherapist in Melbourne, La Trobe University, graduating with Honours in 2004. This involved a research project into a major injury for dancers, Stress fractures in the 2nd Metatarsal.
Gabby began her career in providing physiotherapy services in Melbourne in the rehabilitation area and enjoyed working with a variety of orthopaedic, cardiothoracic and neurological conditions. However, she found that her interest in ballet drew her back into the world of dance. She has worked with the Australian Ballet, the Australian Ballet School, Victorian College of the Arts and Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, as well as treating the dancers of the William Forsythe Company when they were touring in Australia. Gabby has also been involved in helping many young dance students in Melbourne through their injuries back into the studio and on stage over the last 12 years.
She has a strong desire to help young dancers overcome injury and develop solid techniques. Gabby will be working with the students and teachers at the Australian Ballet School to help them build and maintain strong, healthy bodies.
