Graduating with honours from the Doctor of Physiotherapy program at the University of Melbourne in 2014, Amelia started her career working in the public hospital system. During this time her primary focus was on orthopaedic and musculoskeletal outpatients. She then moved into private practice to combine her love of dance and performance with her passion for physiotherapy.
Prior to becoming a physiotherapist, Amelia was a dancer, completing her Bachelor of Dance at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). As a dance teacher she loves to combine her knowledge of dance technique and biomechanics with her understanding of anatomy and injury rehabilitation to help performers achieve their goals.
Amelia is passionate about combining manual therapy techniques with exercise, strength training and pilates based exercises as a part of the rehabilitation process. Applying these techniques across dance, sporting and musculoskeletal injuries. Additionally Amelia is trained in treating vestibular conditions and practices dry needling.
She is available for consultations at Physio on Collins and VCASS (Tuesday only) as a general musculoskeletal and dance physiotherapist.
